It wasn't so much the screws specifically I had a problem with, it was more so getting the mounting bracket to fit correctly in order to have it allow the screws to actually reach. I made sure it was set flat before I put it inside the case but by the time it was in, and perhaps this is my own fault for not having very steady hands, it had already picked up some momentum somewhere and teetered off its retaining hole. Ended up faffing about with that trying to get it to lay flat and properly again.

Had it been just screws, I wouldn't have had any issues. That's the price of broad compatibility I guess, the fitting mechanism becomes much more of a faff in order to meet standards of more sockets.
