It's a shame that most of the UK's and Europes internet backbone are Huawei systems then!

True, but I didn't buy that.

Also, very little data from me goes over the net, at all. I may not yet be at zero, but I keep it minimal.

Best way to not have data go out is not to have an internet connection at all. It's amazing what stuff you don't put out is extrapolated anyway by incredibly clever systems.

    Indeed.

It might be a bit extreme, but I have actively considered going entirely net-less. I did so for a few months, due to having to go away unexpectedly to care for a very ill family member that didn't (and still doesn't) have or want anything to do with computers, let alone a net connection. Funny thing was, after it feeling a bit weird for a while, I didn't mind having no access. I'd miss this place, but precious little else about the online world.

The pace, and style, of life is different, but it made me realise just how superficial so much of what we take for granted about online life really is.

Do I need the internet? Absolutely not.

Could I live without it? Oh, yeah. Absolutely.

Am I prepared to give it up? Not quite, not yet. But it wouldn't take much to tip my hand.

Seems to be bit pricey and an interesting one from Google.
