2 of those GPUs is barely faster than a single 980Ti. Meh I guess it's for people who specifically need the VRAM for something.
Considering the 980 Ti often gets left in the wake of the aged 295X2, which is basically two 290X GPUs in a single card, I doubt this will only be "barely faster" than a 980 Ti. The 390 has slightly more OC potential than a 290 and this beast has an extra 10GB of VRAM compared to the 980 Ti's 'measly' 6GB.

Not really, it's 16Gb split between a pair of gpu's so each get's 8Gb. It works exactly the same as crossfire.

Re: PowerColor Devil 13 Dual Core R9 390 16GB announced

I had some immediate thoughts and laughed.
First up I giggled that a lot of people out there do not even have 16GB RAM in their PC
Maybe a good water cooler on this, as I can see a bit of heat may be produced.
So who would make a water cooler.
Then I was thinking about 2 or more of these in crossfire, what a bragging right, just on 4 video cards = 8x GPU's + 64GB ram + a BIIIIIG bill and a lot of heat.
Now what sort of motherboard would that suit, maybe with 2x i7 CPU's with 128GB RAM
What it would be good for otherwise, I don't know, but sure would look good and sound good showing off to your mates. Ha Ha :-)
Anyway, now to step out of fantasy land and back to the real world.
I think I will stay with my watercooled 290X crossfire setup for the moment.

Have 2 R9 290 Sapphire Tri-X OCs in CF and water cooled and they run fast. Also own a single GTX 908TI SC and it's almost as fast and can OC much better.

That seems a rather broad statement, especially as there's two variates of Maxwell and that very little is even know about Pascal.

Then again I suppose AMD can't be blamed for trash talking the competition and using Oxide Games, the poster child for the now abandoned Mantle, as their mouth piece when you look at how great their cards are.

I was just looking at the included razer ouroboros mouse, and that seems like £70-80 alone.

says £130 here, i would just prefer it if they concentrated on the product itself- then we can buy our own choice of peripherals with the change. of course this is unrealistic i admit.
