Acer's Predator Z35 G-Sync monitor has OC potential

35in curved UltraWide panel looks great and can be overclocked to a 200MHz refresh rate.

As awesome as this looks, from what I've heard it's better to have a 75hz version at a higher resolution. Anything past 75hz is diminishing returns apparently, which I'm inclined to believe

The biggest two things this has against it -
    1. 1080p
    2. The price

you need to figure out what ur using monitor for - gaming or visual work. If gaming is involved then the higher refresh rate the better (though fake 200hz sounds fishy). The negative impact is in back light amount so with visual work high refresh rates are no no.

Very nice - apart from the price. 35 inch is a bit too big for me!!

At least being "only" 33% higher resolution than 1080p means you'll "only" need 6 GPUs to drive the setup instead of 24!

    I like it.
For once, a curved screen that might (probably does) have some practical visual benefit, simply through sitting so much closer to it than watching the average TV where the curve is a load of complete blx!

2560x1200 closely matches the 2.35:1 cinema-wide format which is what almost all movies are made in. Absolutely no movies whatsoever are made in 16:10, though a few are in 16:9 (but usually letterboxed from 2.4:1)

Re: Acer's Predator Z35 G-Sync monitor has OC potential

The monitor is to big for 2560x1080p, it has a really low PPI, I think the new ASUS PG348Q looks a lot better and I will actually buy it.
