Avira free antivirus.
It works fine with the only interruption being a very occasional ad. It also has very good security according to avtest.

Avast! Free -- don't need anything else.
Also Avast Business Security at work - also free without bolt-ons
Would highly recommend it. Been using it with very little trouble for many years. Very occasionally it gets over zealous and throws a false positive, but just add the file (once verified clean by jotti.org or equiv.) to the ignore list. Apart from that it has been very reliable.
I have used Webroot Secure Anywhere for several years now and I am happy with it
Comcast Cable provides Norton Internet Security with their subscription. We've been using it for the last ten years with mostly good results. I've used the repair tools from Bitdefender and the Microsoft Offline scanner when I work on friends infected computers.
Eset Smart Security on my pc. Free 360 Total Security on my weather station laptop and the wifes pc.
Avast for the past few years.
I haven't checked in a while but the last time I looked Windows Defender / Security Essentials was rated poorly in terms of protection - has that changed recently? I'm surprised at the number of people using them here
Used to use AVG and then MS defender, now on Avira and quite impressed.
For the last several years I've been a very happy ESET NOD32 user. Earlier I used to use Kaspersky, but somewhere along the way it got a bit too resource hungry. Before settling on NOD32 I gave several of the usual suspects a whirl: BitDefender, AVG, Avira. I found them all lacking, though.
The only other AV software I find somewhat intriguing is EMSIsoft Anti-Malware, which, contrary to what the name suggests, is a full blown AV solution.
OT: I've always thought it was "bad rep" as in bad reputation, not "bad rap". But then again, English isn't my native tongue.
None
Long before it got co-opted as a name for a particular kind of music, 'rap' was a term used for 'street talk' - usually about someone or something, and their street cred (credibility) - or reputation. So a bad rap was synonymous with being 'bad talked', or given a bad reputation. I'm not certain if the same type of slang was used in Britain/UK, but it certainly existed in the US in the 50's through the 70's as a common, if slang, term. Then came NWA and the Sugarhill Gang, and rap took on a whole new meaning....

Kaspersky & Malewarebytes!
Avira AV Pro for years with no complains.
Kaspersky Internet security since 2006
Emsisoft Internet Security, big fan of behaviour blockers.
Easy. Qihoo 360 Total Security. Ever since I heard of it I haven't even thought about going back. Maximum security, efficient resource usage, non-intrusive and it comes packed with a bunch of extra useful features.
