always like these motherboard form Asus, but surprised they left out the M.2 and USB 2 headers... disappointed but relieved as I want those features so won't be getting this one this time
This is almost the most perfect one considering its size and what it offers as a mini-ITX board. Few limitations can fixed with easy work around and alternatives.
And about time! I've been waiting for the new mITX boards to appear.
Not so fussed about the lack of M.2 - it has a U.2 socket and if desperate you can get adapters. Also those drives are silly money at the moment and my SATA SSD is plenty fast enough; most of my work is CPU bound rather than IO.
Anandtech is saying $250, available next week in the States.
Those are front panel headers (power/reset button etc.).
Had all the other parts ready and couldn't wait for them to announce and then release this board. So went with an ASRock which actually has quite a lot of features. Also went for a SM951 NVME. Wonder if they could have used another U.2 to replace the SATA ports to save space in future.
Haven't seen an U.2 to M.2 adapter. Only seen a M.2 to U.2 one.
The faster M.2 drives does cost a lot more, because its in a different league and weather you can take full advantage depends on your usage.
M.2 also save space as most of them it is directly mounted on the motherboard. Again it is my requirement due to the itx case I went for, so not saying this board is a bust.
Morecomputers have it on their site for £181.20, but restock date keep changing...

Looks great, if major overkill for Z170 ITX.
I am looking to get back into PC gaming over the next few weeks but ITX has so many options with Z170, or limitations X99, that it's proving a lot harder than I'd thought to know where my money is best spent.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Have this with a Fury X or a Nano then you will have a monster of a ITX Rig.
I have no complaints about this board. I am using one and it performs excellent.
