Re: QOTW: What is the oldest component in your PC?

Upgraded recently, so my Lian-Li PC-65 case finally bit the dust after 10 years but I'm still rocking the Altec Lansing ACS-295 speakers that came with my first PC (a Dell) in 1998.

Anything older than that - Amiga, C64, Speccy etc has long since gone; I prefer emulators and less clutter!

My oldest bits are the monitor and HDD. Both are about 7 years old. Next oldest will be my graphics cards, a pair of gtx 670's. Everything else is less than one or two years old...

Oldest "part" is my Dell 3007.

However, if we're refering to internal components, probably my CPU - 3770K

It could be one of the SSDs though - my Sammy 830 has been in there a good while.

Re: QOTW: What is the oldest component in your PC?

I've still got an original Sound Blaster Audigy (2001ish?) in my main PC, it has been through a number of motherboard upgrades
In my box of old bits I have a floppy drive from 1990 and a 3DLabs Permedia 2 graphics card from 1996...

Re: QOTW: What is the oldest component in your PC?

I do have some old punch cards from the mid seventies in a box lying around somewhere under the house (or is it in the attic).
Don't know if they could be called technology, but I suppose they were a input device.
Just no way to use them anymore, and besides who would want to. They were so frustrating.
In my present PC I have a 3M USB 2 cable from the early 2000's, apart from that, the oldest thing actually in my PC would be my remaining 2x Maxtor 160GB sata 1.5Gb/s hdd (I use them for only for a secondary fresh clean load OS, et cetera, back up and turn off as they fitted in a 5.25" rack)

I think my oldest part would be a couple of my HDDs. I should really replace them but not done it yet.

One of the first coolermaster aluminum cases in 2001 still intact with no scratches, basically unused.I'll built an ITX z170 on it.
