that would actually make me consider changing my 9 year old phone, to a new one, carrying it about in a work shop full of metal swarf, will help to protect the screen from getting to scratched.

Old phone has leather cover and it has done a fairly good job, only trouble is the battery is as good as when i bought the phone

I'm not so sure - the stuff I saw said that LG were building a sub-US$1bn plant for mobile device displays and a second one for TV displays. Oh, and the TV concepts that were coming out in the articles I read were definitely - e.g. a large panel that just goes up like a piece of wallpaper with magnetic mountings.

Getting back to phones, while I can clearly see the point of LG supplying displays to (rival!) Samsung for a "Galaxy Flex", it would be extremely strange if there wasn't also a "home grown" device. Remember that LG have already tried unconventional models in the LG Flex and Flex2, aka the "Banana Phones".

If only they could get some product placement into a movie for this new-fangled crazy design ...

Looks great....but it will get slated by the masses, until Apple bring it out and then they will be called Game changers. haha

This seems completely pointless. Want to check your phone quickly? Tough luck, it's folded in half. Want to take a call quickly? Tough luck, you phone is folded in half. Don't want a lump in your trouser or jacket pocket? Tough luck, you've made your phone twice as bulky. Solution? Don't fold the phone in half.

I get the feeling Samsung is doing this for the sake of it. Perhaps the shareholders wanted to see something new.
That will make a 6.5" screen pocketable dude. Think about it!

It looks pretty damn cool, I wonder how it stays rigid in the flat mode.
