just use manual temp control? mine havent gone past 30% mark in like forever... and there were days when they said 290 are too hot and too load...
How many are "several"? Are we talking 10s, 100s, 1000s, 10s of 1000s...given how many GPUs are out there is it a significant percentage?...or are we talking "Women skin care product advertising numbers".
Personally, I've not had any problems with CRIMSON but then the hottest this GPU has run is between 60-70 degrees C (no...I haven't tried it with Crysis).
Best thing here is that AMD have responded and hopefully fixed the problem...if there are genuine cases of the new drivers cooking GPUs then I hope they will respond accordingly, although how the hell anyone will be able to prove that it was CRIMSON that was the cause as opposed to user faffing will require better hardware/software forensics than I imagine most plaintiffs are able to provide.
Of course I'm perfect you just need to lower your expectations.
An amusingly literal use of the term 'hotfix' there.
Not that it matters really but wasn't the release of crimson to be the last support/update for older cards?
So do these older cards that now have a borked fan profile still get that update to fix it?
Would honestly lol if they don't.
They have it on an unsupported basis as a one off. But the hotfix is available for them too in any case:

Latest 16.1's and its still not fixed for me, locks at 19% on boot and I have to hit reset then set a limit myself or it will ramp up to 100%.
Anyone else still having issues?
Also the auto option is now missing for me in the drivers?
Have you tried reinstalling the drivers after cleaning all traces of the previous ones with DDU? http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/...-download.html
Does it still happen if you go back to using older drivers?
If that doesn't help, try contacting the card manufacturer (i.e. Sapphire, going by your spec) as it's possible it's not the same issue.
