The same thing to Apple, they have the most expensive computers and phones yet on WallStreet they are the most valuable company maybe that also applies to Nvidia. I would like to own a Fury Nano or a 980 but taxes on other countries is extremely high so we end up owing the range of R7 370 and 950's cards. But what has saved AMD is PS4 and x-1.
By 'top-end' I was referring to the cards based on the reticle-size dies, GM200 and Fiji, so the 980Ti, Titan X and the Fury line. However as these dies are also commonly used for HPC I imagine that offsets the high costs. That might not have been true for specifically the GM200 as it doesn't seem to have found its way into that sector (Nvidia iterated the GK110 instead, GK210), but that's likely down to 28nm becoming cheaper, yielding well and them not having much of a choice with no suitable nodes for something like a year.
Polaris launching at Computex:
http://videocardz.com/59947/amd-to-l...10-at-computex
The subjects mentions Polaris 10 but it's not mentioned in the body? Also, wouldn't it likely just be 'Polaris' launch, or a product name, rather than a specific die? I could be wrong, but I'm sceptical.
Ye I had the same thought when I saw that post earlier, the body of the email doesn't seem to mention Polaris what so ever, and the only thing it directly refers to is a new generation of APUs. Also I thought we already knew they failed to secure a spot at Computex and so set up their own event nearby the day before computex starts, wasnt that what we last heard?
It does a bit like this webpage:

Hmm.
Looks like the event on the 18th won't reveal anything too:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comment...ut_polaris_is/PSA: The call on 5/18 at 9AM CT about Polaris is NOT a reveal / launch effort, sorry!

Hey guys,
I noticed the hype train full steam about this call on 5/18 but I need to put the brakes on this for now .
This is a high-level partner webinar, and there will be no specific technical details discussed.
I want to set expectations here, and while this may seem incredibly disappointing, you'll know more about Polaris soon (no ™).
Pls no shooterino the messenger. While tempted to downvote, please do the opposite to bring awareness.

So when are they launching? CAT's post suggests later but there can't be that many events left?

Polaris 10 samples apparently running at 1.266GHZ:

AMD conference on the 1st of June covers both Bristol Ridge and Polaris:

Which is still a massive uplift over the 850MHZ the same samples were running at a few months ago. The sample 67DF: C4 is notable as multiple sources confirmed it as a 2304 shader chip.
All other Polaris 10 and 11 leaks have had the GPUs running at under 900MHZ including the Polaris 11 demo, where the GPU was running at 850MHZ.
