I quite like the desktop monitor stand style, funny how things have come full circle and we have a concept that the PC sits on the desk and the monitor on top of it... from the early days of the PC
They would need to make it clear what the maximum weight is that can be supported by the case without it bowing on top when you open the drawer. Especially for those that might want to put it under a TV in the living room.
A nice pair of designs - although I'm always ready to give kudos to anyone who's bravely trying to break away from the silver/black shoebox design. Don't think either is going to replace my current HAF932, but if they did a larger version of the Ola then I might be tempted.
That Taku one looks fantastic - will be keeping a close eye on the finalised design (and price!) of that...

When I first saw the 'desktop' taku I thought it was a computer desk but then saw the short legs. Pretty sure it would look quite nice if they scaled it up to desktop size, albeit with a few extra design elements for strength.
The Ola is nice idea (I don't like the top vent) but at the same time I can't see it being something I'd buy. It does have one thing over the mac pro it's 'borrowing' from in that it uses standard parts
Is the Ola to be showchassisd, or showcased?
Have to admit, whenever someone is "badmouthing" black cases one word immediately comes to mind: "beige". With a shudder I remember the days when that was the colour of choice (the only choice tbh) for cases. Say what you will, but black goes with everything. Beige ...not so much.
As for the two case designs in question, I quite like the Ola. It would need a version that accommodates mATX for me to be interested, though.
However, as much as I like the Ola, I dislike the Taku. That design just doesn't work for me. For one it should open to the back instead of the front. If not for anything else then because the gaps make it look sloppy. As do the openings for the USB cables. Surely, this can be done better. And while I don't have anything against wood in cases, these feet make the case look like something out of Ikea. I'm pretty sure they're on the phone right now, wanting their design, such as it is, back. At least CyroRig had the decency to put a Dell monitor on top...
