As with any fan at the moment, you'll trade bearing noise/Blade noise/cavitation effect on cooling depending on how yo run it, not just what you run.
Er, since when did fans ever have to worry about that?

Seems easier for case makers to do that, although since just about every case is a box with a few 120mm/140mm fans at the front and one at the rear I'm not sure what optimisations would be possible

[QUOTE=Xlucine;3675682]Er, since when did fans ever have to worry about that?
They didn't... But some people are picky, fussy little pedants who complain and fuss about getting their builds completely silent... before then suggesting an 1800rpm fan is "whisper quiet", while complaining about the roar of a 900rpm one...

A lot of people on another forum have been arguing blindly against me, stating that they are indeed the quietest fans ever, especially "according to some pre-release reviewers"... but all from having not actually tried the fans for themselves.

Now... Noctua's specs suggest that their fans are quieter anyway. But the more telling part is that Corsair's own specs state that their MagLev ones are louder.
Now, given how many pinches of salt with which Mfr's specs are to be taken, reasoning suggests that the Mfr will always underspec on how loud their fans are. This means the Corsair ones would be even louder that stated

End of the day, as mentioned, silence and performance will depend entirely on your specific case, choice of fan, choice of fan placement and the unique combination of components within, over and around which your airflow will move.
As is, I feel my Noctuas are a bit on the loud side, but still notably quieter than every other fan I've ever used.
