Looks good but the name is pretty awful. Saw the name pop up in a few feeds and assumed it was a new game. Been so good to have some decent competition and finally something affordable that makes replacing my 3570k worth while...

Should be nice to have a choice again.....not that I see many CPU purchases these days. It's just such a shame they didn't get these out 12 months ago. The amount of people I have seen cave in the last 12 months and purchase Haswell is slightly worrying.

I'll get used to the name, its not like its Wii or anything that bad.
Though I do want to say 'Ryzen: The Chocolate Chew' thanks to advertising.
Looks like what people thought, its aimed at the crowd that want something closer to X99 but for Z170 prices.
More than just a fancy name, it implies a particular method of machine learning for branch prediction. I would never have previously thought neural nets would be a good match for that kind of thing, but what do I know?AMD is harnessing 'Neural Net Prediction.' This is just a fancy name for heavily improved and tweaked branch prediction at the front-end of the chip![]()
In line for a full new system next year, (current z77 and 2600k-980ti) so all looking good for Ryzen and Vega, crossed fingers all round.
As a 1080p gamer first and foremost and now that new releases are starting to use more than 4 cores... I think I will stick to my FX8350 for a another couple of years and wait for the second or third generation of these chips to release before I replace it. Sure the single core performance is weak on this chip, but overall it has proven to be amazing value for money in my usage environment, it has faired a lot better than many I5 processors in BF1 for example (or at least in my experience anyway).
I have not seen ANY RX 480 at "$200" as she claims, nice on marketing media, but real world has told a different story.
I am crazy excited to see what this will bring, now as far as clock speeds she said 3.4+Ghz WITH boost, she did not explicitly state what 3.4Ghz would be on what chip she said 3.4Ghz+ that is PLUS, so it could very well be the "low" model is clocked as such, it could mean that as she put it "the engineers are still working on it" considering everything is such smart code, what is preventing a code update forcing higher stock clocks etc.
The motherboards have to be top notch, here is hoping the AIB have all their ducks in a row as this will be AMD moment to truly shine once again, Dr Lisa Su has very much set AMD on the proper track, and has delivered time and time again(save for pricing which she should be personally slapping the AIB partners to enforce the MSRP, add in maybe $20 for the custom cooler which should also have a decent higher clock, not 20Mhz but 50+)
I am stocked. to see what the platform brings, not to mention pricing, likely will NOT be low cost, if it indeed competes with more or less Intel top chip, then it should in theory have a high price, though I can picture more modest maybe ~$580 USD for top chip maybe ~$325 for the flagship motherboards.
As she put it, and I can really see this time "will only get better with time and use" their software/hardware teams since she has take the reins truly have went all in is awesome to see, THAT is AMD.
Newegg currently have 4 RX 480s listed for < $200 - best offer seems to be on the Sapphire Nitro+ 4GB which has a $15 mail-in rebate.
You've obviously just been looking in the wrong places![]()
I think the point of the daft name is that it's 'unique' and won't produce a lot of irrelevant results when searched for, as 'Zen' would.
If it gets people talking about it, good or bad, it's served a purpose.

AMD finally dishing out some real punches! Is my 1st new all AMD in the horizon?! Seems so.
