Google maps
Horrible, keeps rerouting you even if it can save you only one minute due to traffic.

Garmin. I've had several since the original GPS12 (no mapping) which I still use occasionally out in the wilds, although in the car I use one of the newer Nuvi models.

My broadband speed - 750 Meganibbles/minute
Waze all the way
Built in Sat Nav, Don't know what the brand of the unit itself is but it's called GM's MyLink.
Actually works amazingly well, Never thought I would use it but I got lost in unfamiliar suburbs just one time and it saved my a$$, Got to the shop before closing time listening to the voice guide with map route on screen.
Not sure what mine is , bought off one of those dealer Ad's on Ebay , based in Scotland for about £45 some years back. Got this to build into a customised facia in my car. It's been ok for the most part but rarely use it , used more for hands free paired with phone. Funny thing I was doing some deliveries for one of my clients the other day and the van has a plug in Navi Satnav , put the postcode in and got correct address , meanwhile he put the same postcode in on his Iphone and got a completely different road in the same area. The Iphone was wrong.
Don't often have need of one but when I do I just use my phone.
I was using a tomtom but it stopped working and the cost to repair it isnt worth it.
I have been using google maps on my phone recently and it works well and has the benefit of live traffic which the tomtom i had didnt. I was tempted to get another tom tom but it was much cheaper to use google maps on my phone with car mount and car charger
Waze, google maps
Samsung S7 Edge and google maps, works brilliantly for me.
My old Galaxy S2 with NavFree running on it, hardwired into the in-car cradle. Then software on the phone to start the sat nav when the ignition is turned on, and sleep when it's turned off. Been a great thing for a few years now. Got Google Maps and Navmii on my phone too if needed.
Google Maps for directions and Waze just while driving to a known destination, it will only give you directions if it re routes you from the standard drive to save time, couple times its helped me avoid major accidents on the M1.
I'm another one who uses Google Maps on the mobile. I rarely need it, but a godsend when I do.
I wouldn't buy a standalone satnav, I've got a smartphone so it'd be money wasted.
For day-to-day I tend to switch between Google Maps and Waze, not for directions (sound's turned off) but more for the time-to-arrive value. Waze I find is good at coming up with strange routings that you wouldn't have necessarily thought of, but gMaps tends to be more accurate with traffic.
For special trips, notably holidays, I use ALK's CoPilot app on my phone. Big plus of this is that all the maps are stored locally, so you're not going to find yourself suddenly navless in the backends of Wales or Yorkshire.
I have a stand-alone Garmin Nuvi that is a few years old. I have the lifetime maps update for Europe which is where I use it most. I will use it even when the hire car has its own SatNav sometimes as I will store my destination beforehand, so it saves a bunch of time as the European "postcode" system is a bit poor in comparison ours. The downside is that it can take a while to lock-on once powered up and most of the time the car hire place is in a multi-storey, so I have to park up for a few minutes just outside trying to work out which way to get out of the airport!
Whilst in the UK, I will use the built-in one in my Fiesta, but that is usually for longer trips and is mainly because of the traffic updates rather than actual navigation.
Google maps on pretty much every journey. Tells, me almost exactly when I will arrive and picks up on traffic jams pretty quickly. Could be better at re-routing and I wish it had the speed+limit display of Waze but otherwise it's got the best interface and voice control.
