    Oreos are vastly overrated though.

Custard Creams beat the crap out of them all day long.

Re: Google introduces Android 8.0 Oreo

So any news on Google making sure companies actually support Android products for a few years?? Most Android phones won't support 7 let alone 8,since most of the companies CBA even updating perfectly capable devices to the newer versions of Android. So unless you fiddle around with a custom ROM,it means you end up being stuck on an old version(its also not helpful some applications won't even run on rooted phones too).

Its a joke when even phones RELEASED LAST YEAR,are still stuck on 6 and don't have an update for even 7. Then you add all the slightly older models still even being sold now, which won't be even getting a 7 update at all.

It means huge numbers of Android phones even sold recently will be stuck on older versions of Android even if the hardware is fine. This is basically meaning they won't be getting the latest platform security updates, especially since most smartphone owners won't have a clue about rooting, custom ROMs,etc.

A kick in the teeth as well for any who chose a brand previously reputed to be very good at updating quickly, only for that to quickly stop being the case due to their takeover. I am of course speaking of Motorola (which was taken over by Lenovo).

At least third party ROMs are available thanks to community development and interest for various devices. Sure, it means messing about with rooting and everything, and obviously isn't suited for everyone, but it's better than there being no option whatsoever.

isn't Oreo the round bit around the nipple?

Jokes aside its just phone software OS............. so who cares?, it's not like phone zombies need anything more than a web browser and games that look like they where made 25 years ago to be happy...........Jebus what a sorry state people are in.

......might be of some use on tv streamers but apart from that "who on earth with half a brain cares?"

Re: Google introduces Android 8.0 Oreo

Unlike the others, I don't mind Oreos, but they're far from the best. Though Oreo milkshakes are always awesome!

The new version of Android also looks pretty cool too. Shouldn't be too long for OnePlus One ROMs to appear

I'll be more interested when they make it work good on a desktop so I can get an arm machine that might have an 85w ARM soc in it

I want a PC replacement ASAP with all the PC trimmings. NV/AMD vid card options, SSD's, tower, PC type heatsink/fan etc.
