A SSHD also has cache which functions in a similar way, but that isn't marketed in the same way, despite it having exactly the same function.
This is simply misleading marketing, and intentional at that.
RAM is not the same.
An application that you use twice a month will use RAM the same way as an application you use 5 times a day.
That is very different to how readily those applications will be assigned space on that cache.
Because it is based on frequency of use, not need.
RAM is free to be used as an application sees fit, Optane and cache on an SSD has one very specific use which the benefitting application has no control over.
So it is simply wrong not explicitly stating that as something distinct and clearly different, because it is clearly different.
