Totally worth subscribing if you commit to multiple EA titles every year, if you only ever play one however, for example battlefield or Fifa, then it would probably be worth just purchasing the game still so you can keep it after the subscription would usually end. If you are not too overjoyed by the current titles but are thinking it is a good idea so you can always access the latest games, then it is quite risky as you are essentially funding games that are not even out yet which could be a complete flop (looking at you ME: Andromeda).
Good value if you know what you want it for, not so good if you are having a gamble with what might be.
The basic account, provided it keeps this current pricing, seems far better value to me in all honesty (Who cares if you are 6 months behind at that price right?).
If any of you are going to subscribe to origin access be careful of their poor security, my account was hacked by someone russian that even changed my security question, i even called and they actually rejected my call and i searched everywhere for a way as i had the subscription active and i had to use a loop hole in their own security (something about fifa that made you subscribe) so it forced my account to change my security question then i changed language and password. So f**k EA security and everything related to them. I had the service on for about a year and i hardly played anything besides the titan fall campaign and a few matches and nfs payback, that russian moron played the whole nfs and got half the achievements. Then after a week a coworker got his account stolen too but he didnt manage to get it back.
Of which there is a lot of "filler" in terms of ancient games (that probably don't have an active online element for multiplayer).an instant collection of 122 PC games
It's what, £20 for a year currently to access that part of the service, what's the equivalent going to be for accessing the premier version? £99.99? That doesn't add up when you factor in the exchange rates, especially when it's digital content with no real additional costs involved. Equally as pointed out, it really does depend on the games, I'm definitely not going to pay to be a beta tester while they get things right for anything I might want to play around launch.
I can live without EA games, this isn't going to entice me considering their past record of launching incomplete or buggy games, or ones with terrible micro-transaction models that are essentially pay to win.
I had exactly the same thing, someone hacked my account bought Fifa 18 with Russian currency.
I only noticed cause i dislike football! and i had emails from Origin saying i had broken online FIFA internet rules when i told them someone had hacked me they shut my account and reopened after i jumped through hoops for two days with them trying to prove who i was.
I got Spore added to the collection which is a great game, tried to connect online nothing would work anymore and i already had an account from years ago for it.
Might wait for the games to come out that I want to play, subscribe for one month, complete the campaign and cancel the sub. I am not into multiplayer so only play the single player.
