As an overall package, including BIOS and bundled extras, I'd have to opt for MSI.
Gigabyte's AORUS boards are also fantastic but their BIOS is terrible.

Haven't had the best of luck with Asus boards.
Abit.
MSI.
i think every board has the potential to be a winner. have to set up specific criteria and then rate them..however, popularity does count for something. i see far too much emphasis on the glitz or bling rather than performance or overclocking capacity, software/bios capacity and stability. poor bios can make stability impossible too. motherboards ,in particular, are most quixotic from generation to generation, as well as model, level or style. just so many things to be right or go wrong. i depend on reviews from actual users , cant test drive them all and the cost of entry is getting very high. threadripper puts amd into the real big leagues. i would need to spend more on just the motherboard than i had for board and cpu getting a top board and cpu in the PhenomII am3-3+ stage . that is a huge outlay to 'just play games' that is enough.
i agree with cat and others ..with that short and sweet comment, says it clearly.
