If you're an avid gamer tech enthusiast with loads of disposable money, would it not be worth the cash to have the best performing gaming card in existence?
The 2080ti is very expensive in the context of an average income but not worth it is a very subjective assessment. In pre-ordering a 2080ti it demonstrably is worth the money for me, but if it is value for money I can't say.

    You're funding Nvidias R&D.
Not investing, just giving them money like some sort of charity. Do they look like they need help?

I'll take your 1080ti off you if you pay the postage. I don't need charity (at the moment) but if people are throwing money around then yes please.

Well, that's a weird view.. He's purchasing a product - he gets something for his money - not investing or giving money away. You can make an (subjective) argument over the value of that product but the rest doesn't add up!

Any news of this tech in a VR title?

Though it could be that VR isn't trendy enough any more and companies are steering away from it, which would be sad. It was the only driver for me getting a Vega card rather than sticking with the old R9 380.
