I think that depends on usage scenario, purely for gaming? Possibly not. However I could really have used an ultrawide monitor (or a second one) the other week when doing a lot of cross referencing of documents (with about 20+ tabs open). It just got to the stage where I had to print everything out, a wider monitor would help, but I am not overly convinced paying a premium for that is worthwhile (as nice as it would be for gaming moments).

I'm talking about Adaptive Sync technology, not ultra wide. Ultrawide is, IME, an excellent format for working and (most) gaming.

Add in your new RX 2080ti and you are looking at needing to sell at least 1 kidney, possibly your first born too.

I use three vertical screens at work. 1920x1200 resolution. Fantastic for productivity. Gives me close to 4K resolution to work with, whilst maintaining the resolution at the useful ~96dpi mark.
