Re: EA considering Command & Conquer PC remasters

I remember buying and playing online the ORIGINAL C&C back in the old DIALUP days!

For me C&C was ground-breaking for pc development. Long history with Westwood being my go-to website back in the day this was like fortnite nowadays.

C&C GENERALS was some great fun and if they can bring that feel back it would be awesome with todays netcode etc

REALLY WORRIED THEY JUST GOING TO PISS ALL OVER IT AND MONETIZE THE rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish OUT OF THIS GAME

Did you try C&C 3? It felt like a true continuation of the original formula.

Cannot explain the amount of fun I had playing RA2 (at school!), but as with all things in life, I don't think EA could recapture that magic with a remaster...

Mate, completely with you on this one, though I never managed to play it at school. If they remaster any games, it has to be Red Alert 2. Please do the Yuri's Revenge Expansion as well!

Don't care anymore, Paradox scratches my RTS itch with Stellaris and HOI4.

Also I think OpenRA is better than any BS EA manage to cobble together.
Red Alert was always C&Cs slightly silly counterpart anyway. After the first one I never really got into the vanilla C&C series as it took itself a bit too seriously. As for their core market, effectively StarCraft took them and they never really looked like coming back.

Stellaris is a 4X, not an RTS. Not sure HOI is either but they're both very good at what they do.

For C&C fans who may not be aware (or have forgotten), there's always OpenRA.

Interestingly, Jim has also made the announcement there and is also reading and replying to the feedback on the OpenRA forums.
I've found Origin to work pretty well, its stable and their support/refunds were streets ahead of Steam, to the extent Steam copied a lot of their policies.

Perhaps, but I'd rather mostly stick to a singular distribution platform - namely Steam - due to having so many games there already.

Interesting, but I know that they'll just jam it full of micro-transactions. I loved these games, well up until the last few, but am not sure there's a market for them any more.

I just hope they do the same to civilization 3 conquests.
Ever since then the game has turned into pure crap.

Pretty sure they said they wouldn't do any P2W (MTs).

Re: EA considering Command & Conquer PC remasters

I remember the amount of fun i had playing the original Command and Conquer games back as a kid.

Got one of the collections a few years ago and my favourite among them was Generals. Shame the series went down hill after that. Last I played was Tiberium Wars.

I remember the original back in the day, running on DOS?
You could drop it on a decent machine and them NOD bike things would fly around the map...

There was no Command & Conquer 4.

Agreed. In the same way that there are only 3 Indiana Jones or Die Hard films.
