It makes great sense for work. The subscription is tied to a person/ID, so you also get to install it on home computers/tablets/phones etc. (not totally unlimited of course, but about 5 or so) which works out cheaper than shelling out a license for office use and home use etc.
And yes, it's also quite a nice upgrade from 2016 - within the first few uses I had an 'oh, neat' moment.
