    What the ...
How's that possible ? Regular M2 NVME SSD on a Zenith mobo generates that much speed ?

    I'm guessing RAID0...

Threadripper has PCIe lanes out the wazoo.

Re: QOTW: How fast is the storage in your PC?

This is my 960 EVO 250GB as a boot drive and I noticed a decent improvement to windows responsiveness when I made this upgrade last year.

I also have Sandisk Ultra II 960 (x2 RAID 0) and the performance is pretty terrible going by the banchmarks though its more than good enough for my Steam library. I think for gaming you are hitting diminishing returns by moving up to NVME.
This is the second RAID0 I've tried with this model as the original ones I bought both failed within a week of each other and had to be RMA'd... So yea I'm not expecting much and am not putting any mission critical data on them! These are purely for gaming or for when working on projects before archiving them.

I'm no power user by any means (I mostly game but use blender+premiere) so supplementing this with some good old fashioned mechanical storage suits me fine. There isn't really anything that I do that makes me think I wish my hard drives were faster. So yea, don't really see me upgrading in the next year or two.

3 NVMe drives in Raid 0 at a wild guess.

If money had not been a consideration in my build I would have gone with this - https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards...XIMUS-XI-GENE/ as well as 4 NVMe drives.

I have a Samsung 840 Evo. Had to update its firmware once, cause it got slow, since then havent had any issues.

I never feel like i have to wait for stuff to load.

I've got a 1TB Samsung 970 Evo. Got the same scores as the rest above. It's bloody aces.
Also got a 2TB Intel 660p. About half as fast. Great for my Steam folder
