Re: QOTW: Which monitor(s) are you using?

Just retired my 10 yr old HP ZR30w for a flash new LG 34KG950F. Going from 2560 x 1600 to 3440 x 1440 has stretched my GTX1080 ability I'm still super happy with it. The screen clarity, brightness and colour that pop right off the screen It's a massive leap in technology. HDR 400 does nothing which I was expecting and if I'm being honest I haven't noticed any real difference between my old 60hz and this 144hz.

Asus MG279Q, 1440p@144Hz VA panel w/ FreeSync (FS range 35-90Hz). Very happy with it, save for my GPU not supporting FreeSync.

Re: QOTW: Which monitor(s) are you using?

2 x Dell P2214H (IPS, 60Hz). I had originally wanted 24" panels, but it seemed I couldn't get that the price I was willing to pay, but I quickly grew to like these. I wanted to be able to multitask better, which is obviously easier to do on two monitors rather than one.

In theory if I were to get some newer monitors, I'd probably want at least one to include HDR at a decent enough level (possibly with Freesync 2 too, but I'm undecided on that point), as well as having HDMI as an extra input in case I wanted the option (no idea whether I'd use it or not, but it's better to have an option to do so if I did want to) to plug a HDMI device such as a console into the same monitor.

If I were to get newer monitors though, I'd actually want them to be 24" ones this time.

Dell S2716DG and pleased with it. Bought it as it was on offer and got good reviews, 1440p and G-Sync.

Alienware AW3418DW. I love it, great for games most films fill the screen and when working it's great for having two windows next to each other.

24" Iiyama ProLite E2407HDS, 2x 23" Acer G236HL, all 1920x1080, and 1x 19" Acer X202W 1680*1050 on my main PC, all acquired 2nd hand during a time when I had no spare money for new hardware. I'm very happy with the Iiyama as my main screen and the Acers are ok as secondary screens.
I'd like to replace them all with a matched set, but I think upgrading my i7-3770k to a Ryzen 2 comes first.

HP LP2475w, had it for 8 or so years and it's still going strong. But having seen the Hexus article on the upcoming LG 27GL850 I'm tempted to upgrade. 1080p gaming is kind of a waste of the GTX 1080's capabilities.

Re: QOTW: Which monitor(s) are you using?

Picked up an LG 32GK850G-B in June 2018, to retire my (almost 10 year old) HP LP2475w

Hoping this one lasts as long! Going well, must admit I did not expect the refresh rate to make as much of a difference. Even simple things like moving windows around in the OS 'feels' better, never mind gaming!

Only issue I've had is a bit of screen flicker BUT that was because I initially used a cheap 90-degree DisplayPort adapter as proof of concept due to just getting a Jonsbo VR2 case.

Re: QOTW: Which monitor(s) are you using?

I currently have an LG Ultrawide 29UB65, and a Philips 243V5QHABA. They are ok, but not optimised for gaming. I'm thinking of replacing both with two 27" curved monitors (1080p), because anything with 1440p quickly moves out of my budget.

I use a pair of Samsung 16:10 screens, I prefer the extra depth over the 16:9 screens. I would like the even deeper if I could get them, more like the screens of yesteryear.

Just a modest AOC 1440p/60hz at 27" - I am happy enough with 60 fps for now, I think anything beefier in resolution or refresh rate would require a hardware upgrade a lot sooner with the new consoles around the corner.

22" Samsung syncmaster 2233BW 1680x1050. its 10 years old or so

could plug my PC into my Panasonic telly to get 1080p but desk/table isn't big enough to have both next to each other.
needs a clean, there's a big greasy hand print on it, with what I hope was chocolate.

suits my 750ti just fine though. playing bordearlands 2, and subnautica below zero in max/ultra settings without a care in the world as to what the FPS is, but it does look pretty shiny in 'not quite full HD' resolution.

I bought my Dell 2407WFP 12 years ago. Used daily, mainly for work, streaming TV and the odd game. It was reasonably expensive at the time, but has been worth every penny. I do look at new monitors from time to time, as I would like to increase to a 32 inch. The 24 inch Dell seemed massive at the time I bought it!
