I classify what he says as racism because he is stating because it came from China it must be full of spy holes and backdoors.

Considering there is very little merit to those views upon cross examination of the accused products and systems and is more negligence/bad practices than malicious intent.

So if we remove the meritless accusation, what is left is "the cpu came from China therefore it must be insecure and hackable by them".

Is that not racism or having a racist view?

Perhaps xenophobic might be a more appropriate term?

That's a fair point but if it were xenophobia, it would not be limited to China. It would extend to Taiwan, Korea, India etc.

Because it is specific to one race/origin/culture i would lean strongly towards it is simply racism. But it could be interchangeable in some circumstances.

True, except racism implies a race, not a country, so that would also include Taiwan, Hong Kong etc, and not just The Republic of China!

However we are getting off topic!

Back on topic, the RoC does have a history of malicious cyber activity, i agree with you that it doesn’t mean that all Chinese IT products contain malware.

Well i think the Japanese (not Chinese) immigrants in america living there during WW2 whom were persecuted and put in camps would disagree about how the term racist would be used.

Not disputing that China is a cyber warfare powerhouse, i am disputing that insinuating products are pre-infiltrated before leaving china and/or because they're made in China simply because of the region itself.

On topic, RISC is becoming more interesting as time wears on.

Japanese, surely? Even citizens born in the US were interned simply because of their Japanese ancestry. Ugly bit of business, to be sure.
