Oh that's easy. A Razer mouse. And you wanna know what it was before that ? A Razer mouse. And the time before that ? Oh ya, a RAZER BLOODY MOUSE.

Will never buy em again. POS's

Last PC component though was a GTX670, and the shop that I bought it from had closed down so I had to go through Asus. Bit of a ballache but they sorted it pretty quickly. Charged me £25 which eh isn't too bad.

Gigabyte AM3 motherboard - after somewhere around 1 year of use, would cause boot issues. The replacement is still going strong

Z97-K motherboard, all be it after several years faithful service and it didn't take anything else with it so not that big a deal.

I had to RMA my RTX 2060 due to a faulty (noisy) fan but I don't think that really qualifies.

Mine was the case going faulty actually. After replacing the motherboard and therefore CPU (was due an upgrade soonish anyway) due to it not powering up - turns out it was the USB2 header on the case causing a board short out.

When I figured it out I felt like such a pleb and £400 lighter

PC components are generally very reliable.

I think the last was a case fan bearing becoming noisy. So caught it before it actually failed.

Hard drives keep on failing on me because of low quality components.

Power supply which the manufacturer quickly replaced under warranty. It was 6 years old when it failed. I have been using Corsair products for as long as i can remember - really good stuff.

4TB Hard drive Western Digital I think. My new Hackintosh only has SSD's now and the only mechanical hard drives I have are in a raid enclosure.

Re: QOTW: What was your last PC component to fail?

Replaced a noisy 14" Phanteks case fan recently. I guess the bearing was going. At full belt it sounded somewhat like a noisy mechanical hardrive during some intense reading/writing operation. Oddly enough, when placed in a vertical position (front fan) rather than a horizontal one (top fan), the noise ceased.

Re: QOTW: What was your last PC component to fail?

Motherboard, and before that motherboard and well... My 5 last components that failed waere motherboards... Apparently AMD FX chipsets ran too hot which in the climate of where I live means death by cold solder in a year and so I exchanged motherboard yearly untill I upgraded to Ryzen, 3 years ago. And I'm happily upgrading to 3rd gen Ryzen right now just because I can. I've only had a FAN and a GPU fail me besides motherboards. And the GPU only failed because of a motherboard fault...

Re: QOTW: What was your last PC component to fail?

An Asus Matrix Platinum R9 280X after less than a month's use. Must have been in 2013. The VTX3D 280X I bought for the same money after Asus refused to give me another card and gave me my money back is still alive...
