Should be cool!
Oh gosh that brings back memories. C&c was my first 'remote' multiplayer game - dial up modem direct to friends dial up modem! Really hope this is a Steam release at a sensible price (I already have the C&C collection).
Really liking what I'm seeing. A proper remaster not a remake!
"...the revered code from C&C Tiberian Dawn and C&C Red Alert will be used to "match the core gameplay, feel, and signature look of the legacy titles..."
Translation; we're too cheap to actually rework the game, so it will have bugs up the arse and run like rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish, if you're even lucky enough to get in game on a modern PC; but its ok because we're being 'faithful'.
While it has nostalgia for me. It has not aged well even with the remaster
Isn't this basically OpenRA?
Wonder how they are going to incorporate MTX and Loot Boxes into that old code though...
but most importantly does it have the Dinosaurs? #JurassicPark switch!
And here was I thinking we were going to get RTX enabled ray traced glares from the bazooka's
I'll probably still buy it though just for the hell of it... it's C&C for gods sake people!
Loved this back in the mid 90's - great follow-up to the Dune RTS game by Westwood and difficult to recall just what a step up C&C's graphics were from Dune at time of launch.
Seem to recall that the unit's path-making skills could go a bit haywire in bigger battles with lots of units on-screen... hopefully that part of the code will be freshened-up to exploit the increased processing power on tap in today's PCs, else the nostalgia may be short-lived.
i hope that they include higher res versions of the mission briefing movies !
I'm deeply unimpressed.
This is what I was fearing. It obviously looks better, but not really enough to buy it all over again. The terrain looks sparse. It's nice that they were trying to be faithful, but I had higher hopes like the crash/spyro remasters.
Honestly that feels like they've basically ran a 'smoothing filter' over the original and called it a day....
Looks decent. Will play it if it's actually any good. As I've never completed it back in the day...
