Will the XBOX99 or PS1000 be a viable WFH slim client?
it took me bally years to start gaming on the hated "pee-cee" back in the 90`s.
have been building my own gaming rigs ever since then.
i`m not going to change back again just as i`m starting to get the hang of it, dammit!
I'll always have a pc. But for gaming it's not keeping up (i7 950, 780ti) and I can't afford to upgrade. So the potential value of the next gen consoles along with most of my friends being on console is tempting me.
I've tried consoles that belonged to friends or family a number of times in the past, but I've never enjoyed using the controllers. I just find them awkward and just generally poor compared to keyboard and mouse, so unless consoles allowed keyboard/mouse for every game in the future, I see no reason to switch.
Get rid of the pr0n box for a gaming box?
Never.
Probably stay PC, I don't game much these days and build a powerful PC for productivity so its just spending a little extra on a GPU than is needed and I have a gaming PC too. Past that I am not fussed with new releases and just pick up older games really cheaply which is easier on PC.
With that for the first time since the 360 we are seeing a console which will perform as well as an absolute top end pc which will make it more tempting, the X1 and PS4 didn't beat mid range PC's when they came out.
with a £500 tag for a mid range graphics card alone, a mass exodus to the console gaming is inevitable.
I'm lucky, I do both.
I do both now as well and once trying the console, I have realised that it's got its advantages. It isn't half as bad as I thought it would be so as much as I like pc gaming, i won't spend £500 for a gpu also won't accept 'going used' or low end. I can afford any gpu but won't pay as much as Nvidia (or Amd) demand. I have got vega 56 and that might be my last ever dedicated graphics i bought, they can get stuffed.
For a great many reasons I have no temptation to switch to console. A few of them are:
- I hate console controllers, finding them difficult and sometimes painful to use
- I don't want to game on the sofa
- I like my multi-monitor rig
- I'd still need a fairly powerful PC for everything else
- I like messing with PC hardware
Not in a millions years....
Err NO.
That's a definite no.
(3500 hours clocked up on Black Desert Online now! Addictive? Definitely..)
Haha missed first of april for this one.
no
can a console let me use several screens, 1 huge screen,do some proper pornhub browsing ? :P
"Are you tempted to switch from PC to console gaming?"
Not really, but then again i've changed from PC-only to PC AND console of late (Hello Switch :) )
That said given the choice i will almost always opt for PC over consoles with games, doubly so if mods are an option.
As for the future i'll probably be the same, but the new SSDs in the consoles and the way they're planning on utilizing them looks very interesting. So i'll have to wait and see on that. It'll make a nice change having the consoles not holding back multiplatform games by having to cater for extremely slow HDD storage in any case...
