Epic's servers crumble under Mega Sale GTA V giveaway strain

For anyone who doesn't know, you should have gotten a £10 voucher when you downloaded GTAV which you can then use against other games - including ones in the sale.

And that's now four platforms I own GTA V on: 360 when it first launched, PS4 when I upgraded to current gen consoles, Xbox One on sale after I switched to a One X mainly due to the incredible value of Game Pass, and now PC.

I always assumed I would just take advantage of the free games Epic have been offering and never spend any money through their store. The £10 off £13.99+ games voucher you get by adding GTA V to your account is close to swaying me though. AC: Odyssey for £6.49 is a steal, and you get another £10 voucher with each purchase as well so I could get the season pass for £6.99 too. That's a lot of game for not a lot money.

Still hasn't enticed me to download their launcher though.

But Steam is great? Steam was awful for a long time and only recently started to implement some minor changes to enhance the experience because of competition. It's not like Valve are some uber moral company providing us with steam to enhance the human experience. They are in it to make money and they have had a virtual monopoly for YEARS.

Sure Epic might not be everyones cup of tea but the hate on the launcher is just so entitled its hilarious.
