According to the report, the cooling solution, which looks a lot more overengineered than the company's RTX 20-series Founders Edition cooler, costs a hefty USD $150, or roughly the price of a 280 mm AIO CLC. ..... Given its cost, NVIDIA is reserving this cooler for only the top three SKUs in the lineup, the TITAN RTX successor, the RTX 2080 Ti successor, and the RTX 2080/SUPER successor.

It's more common for fans to be intakes (and these look like that too), so the air would be expelled in multiple directions past the fins.

    Which article?

edit: think I found it "blowing air outward from the cooling solution" at TechPowerUp. I take that to mean the air leaves the cooling fins outward, but is probably still an intake fan.

USB C doesn't have sufficient bandwidth: HDMI 2.1 requires 48 Gbps and Displayport 1.4 runs up to 38 Gbps.

Re: Alleged Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 poses for photos

Has any one here actually bought a card from Nvidia before?

If so, what are they like for returns/warranty etc for UK based customers?
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

Aww, no liquid cooling? I'm doubtful that it costs $150 to produce - you can get a pretty beefy GPU heatsink as a consumer for ~1/3rd that, so they'd have to have really dropped the ball on the production engineering. The bent fins are probably a pain to do, but $100 worth of pain?

I like the clear airflow for the fin section (like a tower cooler) - this should be a pretty good GPU cooler. I can't quantify how much it matters, but having a clear volume for the air to blow into on the other side of the fin stack seems like a pretty good way of setting it up (rather than having the fins right up against the board as on most cards, so the air has to go out sideways)

Was it really worth necroing this thread for that? We since know a lot more about the 3080, including Hexus' own https://hexus.net/tech/news/graphics...tion-examined/
