in so many ways she's great. But the last few years she's become very dependent on the internet and she's lost the person who used to help talk sense into her. We're too far away to help and she is being thoroughly indoctrinated by the nut jobs and fruit loops of the fake-news conspiracy quacks. Lies wrapped in part truths and sweetened with sensationalism.

Re: QOTW: How are you coping mentally?

went out to the shops this morning, only half a mile away, had to have a breather on the wall outside. sister carried all the heavy stuff, i just had bag with 6 loaves in it.
was a sweaty mess, wobblin all over the place. stumbling, short of breath.
used to do that distance in 7 minutes or so, could walk a mile in 17 minutes. took about half an hour to walk it.

Hadn't realised how out of shape i'd got by not going out the house. this was the 4th time since February.

being at home all the time didn't used to bother me, i'd actively avoid having to go out sometimes. but now that can't really go out normally, with all the social distancing and masks and stuff. i want to go out more, just to get out the house and do stuff, like a walk to the beach or something. theres this nagging feeling in my mind that ifi do go out, i'll get sick and infect my family, so i just stay at home all day.
got plenty of stuff to do, so i am busy with things, its just weird, wanting to go out more, now that i can't really..

Mixed. Generally good. I've lost a friend this summer, and that's sticking with me. I count myself fortunate, that I still have a job, and have been working all summer. My industry is about to see massive unemployment, and that's terrifying. I'm reaching out to anyone I know, trying to make sure they're OK. Realistically, some of them are headed for new careers. It's emotionally draining, and there's really not much that I can do about it.

I really do not understand why anyone would have a problem staying inside their house for a few weeks.

Dunno,if it was a high rise flat without a garden i'm sure it'd be a challenge.

    True enough.

We had to pop a letter round next door, got fed up of hearing the pair shout and swear at each other and their kid - especially when people on the other end of internet meetings could hear it.

Perfect friendly chatty family in public, frickin nightmare neighbours behind closed doors.

It depends whether you're an antisocial recluse, or a socialite butterfly, or a full-on outdoorsy person.
For many people, this is basically like being in prison - Doing something because you choose to is what makes it fun, but doing it because you're forced to is a completely different story.

Not everyone is lucky enough to have a house, try staying in a flat with no garden, no where to go or anything else for a few weeks and see how you are coping then
