At FHD and QHD resolutions, how is a 3080 ti supposed to show a respectable performance increase over an RTX 3080 when the 3090 does not? Making it a slightly gimped 3090 isn't going to do it.

Sony Shipped 3.4 Million PlayStation 5 Units in 4 Weeks; Shipments to Reach 16-18 Million Units in 2021....why Nvidia is panicking. Gaming as we know it is giving AMD advantage in these harsh financial times.
I think a lot of people would argue two things: 1) people spending this amount on a GPU are probably interested in 4k. 2) 20GB VRAM gives you headroom for mods/texture packs etc. even if there's not much increase in performance over the 10GB card when a game is played at stock settings.
I wonder how much of a threat AMD is too team green, or if the 3080TI was planned all along?
