My new CCTV camera.
My new CCTV camera.
Widespread availability of coronavirus vaccines. I'd be perfectly happy to get vaccinated and keep all the other technology in my life completely the same.
Though if we're talking computing technology, I look forward to DDR5 coming out late this year. If that happens, it's highly likely I'll be able to skip DDR4 on the desktop.
I am hoping for a decent looking & performing electric motorbike ~600cc equivalent & a 200+ mile range for sub £30k. Oh and 3060 (12GB or maybe Ti) & 6700XT's to be in stock for close to (if not at or under) MSRP. A Ryzen R3 5300X might be nice too, would be a good fit for a HTPC upgrade.
Then the obligatory DDR5, PCIe 5 etc stuff to show up too.
Mostly a new cpu and motherboard. I'm looking forward to an amd 600 series board and 6000 series cpu or whatever it will be called for the am5? socket.
I still need to find a mid tower and newer hdd/ssd's. Going to be a busy year as long as the world stays stable and the economy doesn't crash.
Not built a gaming PC for 5 years and looking to build one with a space saving lower profile. I am "not" looking forward to all the tech research that I will have to relearn before the build.
a vaccine would be good, thats #1 on my list atm.
After that it would be.. um....ssd upgade (and replace the paste) for the xbox 1x i got here, then a 4k 120hz+ monitor, then probs new gpu
I'd like to see the PS5 and the RTX cards be in stock for a change :')
Nothing this year as waiting for AM5 to be launched. My R7 2700 is doing fine and the GPU can wait as well. As for other tech, it would be nice if Focal would launch new closed-back headphones, to fit between Elegia and Stellia but, no sign of anything on the horizon.
I'm looking forward to the unlikely hope that Adobe stop shovelling new features and fix their long-standing bugs and annoyances. I'd like it to be the year that people shift away from Adobe towards Affinity.
RTX 3080Ti, no doubt. With Zen3 performing so well, Rocket Lake can get suck a lemon.
Techwise, new stuff we can actually buy. And major price drops once competition hits.
Hopefully Intel will launch a very disrupting DG2 product this year.
Hopefully a new monitor to finally upgrade to 2K! Not sure which brand or model yet
Surface Pro 8. I'd also consider a Surface Neo, but I think that that's been cancelled.
Being able to buy a 5800x at near or at RRP
