Yes I did; well I assume when they say it is designed for VR it is probably more tuned for VR by deciding which functional blocks to include in the SoC and tweaking power limits, cache sizes and memory speeds etc. Either way, the end result is pretty impressive.

But the point is I can play Beat Saber either natively on the Quest 2 or rendered on the PC. Natively they turn down the blinky light effects a *lot*, and that's just compared to an RX 570. But as this demonstrates, like the Wii did before it, games are made by gameplay not by raw grunt. Most of my playing is stand alone.

I get that.... but the Apple specs are for dual 8k displays. Quest 2 isn't even dual 1080p displays. You need 10 x the gpu grunt to drive those displays at a nice refresh rate. 10 times...
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!

A lot of people saying how expensive this is, but let's be honest, 8k displays are expensive. Of course this still has time to market so the landscape will probably change in both displays and alternative VR offerings, but personally I'm not going to complain yet. Wouldn't surprise me if the head strap wasn't included and cost a grand though.

I think it's more that if Apple charge £3k for it, then it's about 50-60% higher than what anyone else would charge for it...
