Re: QOTW: What speed does your desktop memory run at?

my old p4 has DDR-400Mhz. 2GB of 400MHz CL1.5! That was a big deal for its time.
    my core2Duo has DDR2-800Mhz CL6 or 7 can't remember now.
my old i7-870 machine 1600 CL9/1866 CL10/2133MHz CL11 (as XMP ratings) to suit the CPU overclock I'm using at the time
my 3900x machine 32GB 3600MHz CL16 (as XMP rating) It's BDie so I should probably push it and see what it will do

2133, because it's DDR3 and dual-rank, which more than makes up for the inability of running at 2400 speeds. Also a big NOPE for tightening the timings as I can't go over 1.6V on this PC.

Team Group Xtreem 3600 running at 3800 with safe settings provided by the ryzen dram calc v1.73. I can boot the fast preset but its unstable and has errors.

Re: QOTW: What speed does your desktop memory run at?

    2666MHz CL18 currently as it's a i5 on a B series board and i haven't used XMP yet.

I mite be able to get it running at 2666MHz CL15 with XMP on but to be honest it's a fairly new build and it's running great as is, so i'll probably just leave it.

3600 MHz Ballistix cl 16 tightened to cl 14. having issues getting my cpu/mobo combo to run at 1900 or higher infinity fabric so opted to tighten things up.

Re: QOTW: What speed does your desktop memory run at?

3200 MHz (XMP1 profile) Crucial Ballistix 32GB. I might be able to tighten the CL a little, but in all honesty I just can't be bothered faffing around with stuff like that.

XMP 3600 CL16 - not tweaked anything yet, waiting for the BIOS updates for Zen 3 on X570 to level out

Re: QOTW: What speed does your desktop memory run at?

3200 MHz CL16 using the XMP profile for my Corsair Vengeance Platinum RAM.

My own set are Hynix underneath rather than Samsung, so I haven't bothered trying to see if it could be better as you only hear of people doing so with Samsung chips, so I doubt it would be worth trying anyway.

Maybe I'll look into if that is actually the case with Hynix chips too at some point, but that will likely be at least a few years down the line, as I'm currently happy with the XMP speed as it is anyway.
