I still have it and use it constantly. Especially when using Excel or in fact to type any numbers. I find for numbers, it's easier than stretching across the keyboard to type them. The fact that it's next to my mouse hand, makes using the Num pad still viable for me (I'm lefty, but got used to using a mouse right-handed). Additionally, I know all the keys on the num pad by heart, including the arithmetic operations (+-*/). If I needed to use the numbers on the normal keys, I'd have to look down at the keyboard.
In fact one of the annoyances of Win10 is the fact that Num Lock is OFF by default... so first thing I do when windows load is turn on Num Lock, as my password has numbers in it. I never did figure out if there is a way to have it on on startup (Older versions allowed it!).
