Not sure what you mean by many people not having the problem being the issue. The fact that it is an issue for some, that it's been ongoing for more than 5 years, and that the 'fix' appears to be relatively simple but MS simply don't seem to bother is what the issue is.
Like i said if you're not having the issue then lucky for you, you get to save on your electricity bill, however if you're not effected it doesn't mean it's not an issue and it most defiantly doesn't mean that the issue shouldn't be addressed. If everyone went through life simply dismissing problems just because they don't experience them or they're not effected by them the world would be in a mess, if you ran a business like that you'd be losing customers hand over foot.
It's defiantly a Microsoft driver as it's the "HID Compliant Game Controller" one, it also happens with a wide variety of controllers from XBox 360 compatible gamepads, to Dualshock, Dualsense, Logitech wheels, Xbox One controllers, Thrustmaster controllers, Saitek and so on and so forth.
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
No 'we' are not bitter, I just find people who dismiss problems people are having when they apparently "couldn't care less" to be contemptuous, snide, and disparaging.
I don't understand why people like yourself feel the need to communicate the fact that you don't have the issue, that you "couldn't care less" about other people's issues, that because it's a "first world" problem it somehow doesn't matter.
As i said If everyone went through life simply dismissing problems just because they don't experience them or they're not effected by them the world would be in a mess, if you ran a business like that you'd be losing customers hand over foot.
Looks like this will be the one that finally pushes me to Linux as my daily driver. I've had enough of MS spyware....
I think it's fair to communicate that you don't have an issue, especially if the previous assertion is that it's broken without qualifying anything less than universally. The fact some people don't have an issue proves it's not universal, so instead there's likely something specific about the systems for the people that do have an issue. That's no consolation for them of course, but it suggests the problem is possibly not the driver itself but instead some other compatibility issue, which given the annoyances of USB devices I'm not at all surprised by.
No one is saying it's not fair to communicate that you don't have an issue, their saying dismissing an issue simply because it doesn't effect you is unreasonable and 'unfair'. The previous assertion also wasn't that it was universal, to suggest it was is again unreasonable for the simple fact that the chances of any issue or problem effecting everyone universally is extremely remote, that all/most issues or problems fall somewhere between 1-100% with higher percentages becoming increasingly unlike
This Windows 11 looks like it's going to be a total failure. Forcing TPM requirements on to millions who have motherboards with zero support for it or even PTT options in BIOS's from the likes of Asus et all who can't even be bothered releasing BIOS updates to enable PTT in the otherwise perfectly fine older motherboards.
Microsoft forcing unnecessary upgrades on people, in an overpriced market already short of chips.
If only Linux wasn't such an abject failure at gaming, especially with MMOs.
just installed win 11 i really like it and no crashes yet... just getting used to all the new menu
system....
