Does this mean better internet connectivity down that way now?
Am i the only one a little concerned that we're relying on an online advertising company for the infrastructure of the internet.
Dont make much difference if it was run / paid for by your government, so as it is now though you have not paid directely for it, your government will make sure to ruin the experience of using it for you,,,,, and they will charge you for that service.
But if course, you can sleep safe at night.
only for big businesses, us little folk wont get access to it. ping might be a bit lower to US/spain, but thats about it.
i've had a 10 Tbps canada/ireland/US cable under my house for 20 years, majority of area is still copper based. PDF link https://merseymaritime.co.uk/wp-cont...-Datasheet.pdf

Ouch that's annoying. While not quite so annoying I'm pretty certain we have the major fibre cables for the isle of wight plus some other fibre laid for a new estate passing within meters of our town on the bypass. Same scenario on the copper. I've heard its quite common to have a fibre run past your house without access to fibre due to the way openreach lay large spines because you can't just connect to one of these anywhere along its length but need to do a long reverse run all the way back of a just few fibres to get it each of the residential properties.
How well chosen, in Danish Bude means messengers / delivery men
