Yes, just had to switch on firmware TPM 2 in the BIOS.
Yes, just had to switch on firmware TPM 2 in the BIOS.
I assume my board has the relevant TPM option in the BIOS, but I havne't checked and I don't really care.
If you put hurdles in my way to try brow-beat me into compliance, I'll likely just dig my heels in out of sheer bloody-mindedness.
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes; after that, who cares?! He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!

Hummmm! No, No and No. So neither the PC, laptop or tablet will run W11.
Yes if I switch on secure boot, but need to see if that buggers my Manjaro dual boot. Not that I'll be upgrading anyway, happy to let early adopters be the cattle in the minefield.
Yes and no but not interested in window 11. Everything is running perfectly on windows 10 why upset the cart![]()
Who knows...
Well I'm trying to run the PC Health Check on Fedora Linux under Wine, but it doesn't seem to work!
Was ready to go, but probably have to replace the motherboard first.
BIOS reading appears to be unreliable!
Current PC's... nope, future PC not if I have a choice.
Now they've changed the start menu to not have a windows 10 layout option I'm not sure I even want it full stop... the windows 11 UI just feels like a downgrade in productivity and is likely going to get 'adverts' in that recommended space that can't be removed...
IF they gave us the win 10 start menu in pro/enterprise I might be tempted but I'll be sticking with 10 for as long as possible unless things change. Either way I wouldn't be rushing to upgrade, it looks too buggy and the release feels rushed so not exactly great for 'business' use where reliability is kind of important...
What have they changed on that? I still use the old school list start menu and tbh don't see a need to move away from an alphabetical listing. I don't use the recently added list etc on W10 and definitely have no interest in widgets, equally so for any form of advertising on my PC.
I can run W11, not sure if I'll bother though if they decide to force advertising on me. I'm in no rush to upgrade from W10.
I haven’t checked the specs but would hope so, given that it’s less than a year old (B550, 5800X, 32GB)
Dunno & Don't much care. I run a Hackintosh.
Yes.
Yes x 2
Nope. 3770k paired with a 3080, 21TBs of SSD and 32GB RAM isn't enough for Windows 11's new DRM, but it is good enough to play the latest games with RT maxed out, run virtual machines and develop software.
Start menu - Lack of grouping of programs/tiles, needing to scroll through multiple 'tabs' for the main programs, it's just tiny on larger/higher res screens, can't move it around screen to preferred location, I don't like combined icons or the lack of titles on them, the recommended space can't be removed so wasted space and as I said likely going to be used for 'adverts', right click functionality on the start menu is incredibly limited.
Other - standard 'white' theme lacks contrast (I'm not a fan of dark modes), the right click menu means more clicks in a lot of cases for the programs I use.
They might seem like 'minor' things but when you use your pc all day long those 'little' things soon start to make a difference.
I'm sure there's more that I didn't list.
