Slashdot is such a valuable resource. Today my favourite /. post has to be about spreading worms... the computer kind, of course.

Symantec have made a nifty little worm simulator so that you can see how the little blighters spread.

The Worm Simulator is a substantially updated version of the VBSim program released in 1997. VBSim was the first program to “show” the spread of a virus to Symantec customers. The new Worm Simulator takes VBSim to another level, enabling custom configuration of new worm simulations, configuration of custom networks and protection policy, and incorporates impressive new three-dimensional graphics.

I can't believe Slashdot wants us to learn how a virus spreads by encouraging us to download an MSI executable off the home page!

That would be like me going to the doctor and having him ask me if I know how HIV is spread and then asking me to take my pants off.
