Computex attracts lots of media and industry attention, so it's a great opportunity for companies like VIA to hold large forums. One of the issues to be covered at the VIA Technology Forum 2005 is technology in emerging markets such as India. Some of the emerging markets' top bods will be speaking at the forum.
Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology in Chennai, and head of the Telecommunications and Computer Networks Group (TeNeT) at the same institution, will be sharing his considerable expertise in bringing the benefits of ICT to rural areas, through such innovative technologies as wireless local loop systems, low bit-rate video conferencing and remote medical diagnostics.
ICT can benefit everyone, but only if we do it right. VIA seem to have the right idea here. Check out VIA's press release for more information.
