Russian online businesses are starting off, but growing rapidly, according to a story on Reuters:
MOSCOW (Reuters) - When ru-Net Holding investment company bought Internet store ozon.ru back in 2000 it had monthly sales of just $35,000 and was losing money.

But, while hardly a match for U.S. online retail pioneer Amazon.com, ozon.ru was still Russia's market leader and has kept its top spot by reaching 2005 average monthly sales of books, DVDs, toys and software of $2 million.
The economy in Russia is on the up, as are living standards and access to the Internet, so e-tailers are finding there's a lot of growth potential. Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to setup stevekez.ru and sell... well I'm not sure yet.
