Pentium M Dual Core in January 2006

Anand and the boys have some information on the up-coming Yonah platforms

Intel currently identifies its dual core Pentium M series by using the letter "x" followed by the two digits. The chips with a leading "x" do not have a digit assigned to them yet, although we're already hearing some OEMs call these chips the "800" series.

Sounds good, I love my Pentium M, hopefully these new dual cores will be just as good as the banias/dothan class.

Good stuff. I hope they'll be a decent selection of desktop boards for these chips.

Lets hope they get it right personally can't wait I've got a Dell Inpiron 8600 with a pentium m in it excellent piece of kit you can't hear it. However the p4 desktops run so hot we have stopped using them for desktop machines.( Customers complaining about thier new pc sounding like a Harrier jump jet !!! ) But you just know that here in England we will take a right shafting price wise on these new Cpu's.( as we do on most things )
