No, Microsoft haven't created a means of connecting wireless without using radio waves, their Research department, which operates in a somewhat segregated manner from the usual Microsoft machine, has released version 1.0 of a piece of software which allows a wireless NIC to connect to more than one wireless network at once.
This technology could have some very pratical applications, particularly for roaming. However, the software is far from having a full feature set. WEP encryption doesn't work, but still, anyone who fancies having a play with multiple simultanous WiFi connections should head over to the very un-Microsoft VirtualWiFi web page. If you take it for a spin, let us know what you make of it!
Big up to Slashdot for the tip.
