maybe it'll cause a drop in price of the 20" and 24" WS models... I might be able to afford a 15" TFT then...

Yay now maybe hopefully the 24" will drop in price a bit and then I can definately upgrade from my *now what seems puny* 20" Dell

I've used the 30" Cinemas in the Apple Shop, the first thing you say is '**** thats big'. Guaranteed shock geek factor when you show your mates.

Don't expect to be able to game very well in the lastest games, and future titles, with anything less than Crossfire X1800, and SLI 7800.

This is definately not a gamer monitor, unless you wouldn't mind paying for the wasted space by playing at a still large resolution of 1680x1050 or 1920x1200 with large black borders or enlarged pixels. But I can imagine the productive level of that ridiculous resolution is incredible

Hmm, anyone know anything about the max resolutions of dual-link DVI? Have been trying to find this sort of info for a while... I wonder if they will release a 3407: 34 inches, 2880x1800 resolution. I calculate this as the maximum throughput of a dual link card: 2 x 1920x1200, as such. Does the lowered blanking times [to get single link DVI connections to go above thier max] compound as the resolution is doubled? Is a 30 inch, 2560x1600 screen the best we'll see before DVI is replaced?

    Anyone have a clue?

Thats an interesting theory, and certainly possible (but surely the market area for a high res 34" LCD will be small, along with high manufacturing costs compared to profit margin is a risk), but I think Dell may simply be offering a cheaper alternative to the Apple counterparts.

1 x 24" is enough for gaming, above that it gets pointless.

I've never previously had too much faith in Dell's ability to produce anything other than stock for the masses. I then got the 2005FPW (based on many many reviews but still crossing my fingers) and am so impressed, happy and a little relieved that it really is that good.

This 30" monitor will certainly be a beast, and i'd love to do some video editing on it.

I was sitting in bed last night watching a movie on my Dell 2005fpw, I was thinking how a 24" would be a bit nicer. I retract that thought and now want a 30"

Those better be business funded, or he be rich, because otherwise his priorities lie in rather low places >_>

    I'm jealous though
