    I can never visualise a BTX layout in my head, but I think it does something with similar effect, yes.

    BTX does this without the need for reverse cards, yes.

    But no-one seems willing to take it up so it's just kind of sitting there.

    I presume with the wavemaster you just mount it to the otherside of the case, so the ports are still facing rearwards.

    IIRC, AMD systems have a bit of an issue whereby it's hard to get the RAM slots close enough to the CPU. This isn't the case with Intel systems as the memory controller is part of the northbridge, not the CPU.
