Closest I've found is a LaCie classic mobile usb 2.0 external 2.5" hard drive, but I don't think that has the port on the side like this one.

I recon somesort of syncbox, photo drive as that is a fullsize A type connector. I would expect a mini connector on a mp3 player and a B type on an external HDD.

Yes, I'd agree with you. Its gotta be some kind of USB host device, and the sensible thing to attach to it would be a camera. A camera-syching HDD?
