Headline ::Free repairs as Microsoft admit to faulty Xbox 360

Microsoft finally admit that there was a faulty batch of Xbox 360's. In return for the error they're offering free repairs or refunds to those of us who own the dodgy hardware.

Check out the Headline for more info.

ODC - Just use sales of goods act mate, a £280 console should last more then 16 months. If its failed within that its not a "reasonable time".

Yeah I'm gonna have a rant on the phone later. I'll most likely bring up that sales act and the fact that this problem was on Watchdog a few weeks ago so if they don't do anything decent about it then I'll report them. There's no publicity like bad publicity to get someone to do something you want

Hmmm I just tried that line with Scan but they didn't go for it. They are insisting I go thorough Microsoft and pay for it.

If it is indeed a breach of the sale of goods act, then its scan's problem, not Microsofts.
However whats stopping you from just using Microsoft?

Re: Headline ::Free repairs as Microsoft admit to faulty Xbox 360

    Hi everyone,

My xbox 360 has broken 3 times with the say problem (3 red lights). On the first two times i just got it replaced and repaired but on the 3rd time it has gone too far so i rang them up saying that i wanted my premuim to be swapped with a elite as the elite doesn't have this problem but they replied with it's not in our policy (they always use policy as a excuse). So i said can i have a refund and then again its not in our policy and they then said all they can compinsate me is a wireless controller and i replied with that doesn't fix my xbox but he just didn't replie. Everyone says it aint microsoft fault its the company you brought it off but if you know as much as me and know they have replaced your xbox with a different one and then it breaks again thats microsoft's xbox as they replaced the company one with there one!!! IT AINT ON I WANT A REFUND!!!

    David, Davey, Daveo... Davey pants...

The Elite has this problem. It has this problem big style. My Elite lasted a grand total of 5 hours, then it melted. Do not convince yourself that the ElIte!ss! version wont break.

It has a black finish, a bigger HD and a HDMI port, yes. It also goes tits up just like the others.

Microsoft have come to market with a console that doesn't work. Its as simple as that. it would be funny if it wasn't so annoying.
