What planet are Sony on?
I dont get what his on about with the Wii.
All consoles only ship with 1 controller. the wii controllers are gonna cost 30 for the remote part and 15 for the nunchuk which might be a bit expensive but then the official ps2 controllers and xbox controllers started at about 30 anyway.
PR disaster springs to mind....
Is it me or have Sony *really* cocked up the launch of the PS3?
That is very funny indeed. I would love to know what calculator he uses to do the sums! Maybe its on his laptop powered by those special dual use Sony laptop batteries (yes I am bitter, sending back 6 protectivley marked laptops is not fun or quick!)
They seem to be really on the back foot and just coming out with soundbites to eschew any real marketing push. Maybe they are the same as George W Bush and Tony his crony on the war in Iraq...ie say it enough times and people will believe you.
I suppose the logic could also be if some of the quotes get through into the mainstream media and read by the less technically minded then it might just be believed.
I think he's been licking toads again. The PS3 is many things, value for money it aint.

Guys, read the full article:
http://blogs.theage.com.au/screenpla...ds/003390.html
He's talking about christmas sales of the PS2 and the value for money that PS2 gives compared to competition. Not about the PS3. PS2 is going under the $200 price mark in Australia, and they are pushing a new range of controllers for x-mas.
The first article is media Spin. Well done Nick Farrel, you generated some hits for the Enquirer today, hope you hit target...

While he may be talking about the PS2 it doesn't change the facts, he's attacking the next generation of consoles for being too expensive when the PS3 is gonna require a second mortgage for the average family to afford one.
Theinq is telling lies again.
He has a point dont you think? Yeah right .They wished .
He is still a hypocrite for mentioning value for money , also PS2 should be compared to xbox 1 and nintendo , even then the spec for xbox is still better in value. Also is HD
Do they really think PS2 is going to save them now. They couldnt come out with PS3 so they thought I know what lets make cool controllers like Wii for the PS2
As others have said the inq might have put a spin on it but it doesnt change the fact that hes trying to compare 2 different generations.
The Wiii although not being that much of a graphical leap from the GC and PSX does offer something completely different and if other companies can take a hold of it we should be in for some really fun and innovative games

its a valid point that the ps2 is the best value-for-money console at the moment. lots of games, cheap price, easily available, etc. its still outselling all other consoles put together, so they must be doing something right. yeah, the ps3 is overly expensive, but it's not much more than the ps2 was on release day (£400 vs £300, and in the 6 years since ps2 we've had a 100% price rise in new houses) - for lots of people (myself included) the price won't be a restrictive factor. for those that it will, they can either wait, or buy a xbox360 - but as the gamecube prooved, being a bit cheaper (and almost as powerful) as the competition doesnt automatically mean you'll sell more
incidentally, his comments on wii price are AUS-$ based, which is why he states $400 rather than $200 for the ps2.
