I'm tempted to suggest that Scan promise to do a Full Monty if their target isn't reached.

As for checking about privacy first, it is better to be too cautious than not cautious enough. However Scan's form only requests a name and email address and there are plenty of sites offering temporary addresses or aliases for those wishing to keep their main ones private - SpamGourmet being the best in my view.
